What a year it has been! Between COVID-19, being furloughed, opening a hotel, and Lord knows what else. However, my mother used to always say "There is a reason for every season." So lately, I've been embracing the season and the joy I can bring to those around me the best way I can and also bringing a little holiday cheer at home.
There is a reason for every season...
One way I was able to hold on to a little bit of holiday cheer is admiring the decor and efforts created within the hospitality and travel industry. Growing up, I never really had the traditional fairy-tale holiday experience. Yet, whenever I see luxury hotels market their spaces during the holidays, joy comes to my eyes because everyone has - or should have - the opportunity to experience holiday feels even if that doesn't start from home (this is also true about the retail space. Check out Macy's Center City Philadelphia and you'll know exactly what I mean). So above you'll see some beautiful holiday decor from various hotels around the world. Now how can one create that experience at home? Easy. You can decide on whatever ambiance you desire. For me, it took a while and I mean a while to get into the holiday spirit this year. Thank God for TJMaxx, Marshalls, and Target as I literally had a 25 dollar budget for decor this year (thanks COVID-19). Yet, I was able to count the small blessings by combining some glitter and wooden Christmas trees to make them pop throughout the house. Marshalls had the cutest fall/winter scented pine cone and acorn set. Lastly, anyone who knows me knows I loveeee glitter! So glitter pieces were added to some vases I had left over from the graduation season (thanks friends). Oddly enough I was thankful for my luxury holiday experience with some peace and quiet with loved ones. I truly hope you all had an amazing holiday season and had time to think about your reason for the season - wherever you are in life that reason is special.
Happy Holidays,
xoxo
